X-Large/Rare Egyptian Faience Aryballos with Lotus Pedal: Ex Christies

This extremely large and extremely rare Egyptian piece is a mold made faience aryballos that dates to the Late Period, Dynasty XXVI, circa 664-525 B.C., and is approximately 4.25 inches high, by 3.6 inches in diameter, and is one of the largest recorded examples.  This esoteric piece also has five registers with designs, including a beautiful lotus pedal designed flower seen on the bottom.  This piece has a brilliant light blue color, and extremely large pieces such as this were made for export for wealthy individuals in the Greek world.  An exceptional vessel that is seldom seen on the market.  $10,865.00.   http://www.apoloniagallery.com
