Mint Quality Greek Paestan Red-Figure Hydria: Ex Asteas Python

This lovely vessel is a Greek Paestan red-figure hydria that dates circa 360-350 B.C., and is approximately 11.2 inches high.  This piece is an early example attributed to the Asteas painter, and has a high degree of art.  This mint quality piece has added details such as incised details in the hair of the figures, and a beautiful bust of a younger and slightly older woman seen under each handle which is likely Persephone, and her mother Demeter.  A beautiful piece that is seldom seen on the market.  SOLD  http://www.apoloniagallery.com
