Beautiful & Esoteric Greek Terracotta of a Nude Aphrodite: Ex M&M

This beautiful and esoteric Greek terracotta of a nude Aphrodite dates circa 2nd-1st century B.C., and is approximately 8 inches high on it's custom display stand.  The goddes is seen here completely nude emerging from her bath, and this piece was modelled after the famous Cnidian Aphrodite by Praxiteles, which was also considered in antiquity as one of the most beautiful statues ever produced.  The rare example offered here is an exceptional example for the type, as it has esoteric artisitc style for the period, and in addition, there are few completely nude Greek terracottas on the market, as they are seen draped to some degree.  Ex: Munzen and Medaillion, Basel, Switzerland, circa 1960's.  SOLD
