Superb Greek Boeotian Black Glazed Kantharos with Ivy Tendrils

This large Greek black glazed kantharos dates circa 450-425 B.C., is in mint quality condition, and is approximately 10 inches high.  One of the best recorded examples, and one of the few examples that feature "chevrons" on both sides of the piece, which also highlight the lovely "ivy leaf and tendril" decorative elements that are seen above.  This piece was likely used for drinking wine, as well as for pouring libations in a religous ceremony, as this piece is "mint quality" and may have also been a votive type piece.  One of the best examples with a "Classical Period" Greek shape and form.    $2,875.00.
